Default Mexican Vanilla

Did anyone here watch the food network this week and catch Alton Brown's
show on Vanilla. It mentioned that we should not use Mexican Vanilla
becase it was made with some type of bean other than vanilla beans and
it actually contained some type of dangerous chemical. I wish I
remembered more.

I wish you did, too, and I'm sorry I missed that episode. I use Mexican
vanilla beans, but not Mexican vanilla extract (or any other extract.)

Do you remember whether he was talking about beans or extract when he
said something negative about Mexican vanilla?

Default Mexican Vanilla

I have heard this before. My hubby being from Mexico, I bought a few bottles
when were down there. Lasted me years and I'm still alive lol. I used Danncy
vanilla. Not sure if it has the chemical in it or not. But it was my
favorite. I might just purchase some on Ebay.

I have heard this before too. My hubby being from Mexico I purchased a few
bottles many years ago. Lasted me forever and I'm still alive lol. The brand
I use is Danncy. It was my favorite vanilla. I might just purchase more on
ebay.
