Default Question: ground beef and E-coli

Is it safe to eat well done ground beef hamburgers even if it is recalled
for possible E-coli?

do you really want to? You heat meat long enough and you will destroy
any organisms present. Make sure the meat reaches at least 160 degrees
fahrenheit...check out this government website...
http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/food-aliment/...ll_e.coli.html

ya know what...I just don't think I would have an appetite knowing I
was eating e-coli contaminated beef...just through it in the trash...

It's a recall.. ... he can take it back and get non contaminated beef.
That would be my first choice.

Short answer: Yes.
Short Answer 2: Why?

Fortunately its a hypothetical question.

Still I think any ground meat is likely to have a small amount of bacteria
present and proper storage keeps that number very small.

ah... saw where BC had a recall on ground beef and thought maybe you were
involved in that. Saw your post right after the report on the news.
