Default Double skillet?

I just gort my hands on a well-seasoned cast iron Griswold #90 double
skillet. For those unfamiliar with a double skillet (I was), it is a
two-piece arrangement; a 1.5" deep skillet top and a 3.5" deep skillet
bottom. The two pieces fit together. I've used the bottom as a deep
fryer and the top as a regular frying pan. I'm at a bit of a loss on
what to use the whole arrangement for, although it was obviously meant
to be used as a unit in addition to separately. As a dutch oven? That
seems to be the most likely.

Thanks,

Dan

Dan,

That brings back memories!!
My Grandma Mae had one, and she used it like a dutch oven. She made some
great fried chicken in it too. Hope you get lots of use from it.

I know what you mean, Kimberly. The skillet belonged to my
great-grandmother, who passed away in 1995 at the age of 102. Although
I don't have any specific recollection, I am absolutely certain that I
ate many pieces of chicken fried in that old Griswold. It was hanging
on the wall in my grandparents guest house and they graciously gave it
to me, knowing how much I like to cook. Instant prized possession, and
an important piece of family history.
