Default Is Emeril Losing His Marbles???

What's with the weird sound effects while he's cooking? The vocal
"whoooo-hooo-hoooo's" after his ingredient additions? It's fecking
dementia. Is this a serious chef here? The Food Channel's life is
going down the toilet, and Emeril is the hickey on its neck. And while
I am at it...I caught some OLD Rachel Raye shows the last two days.
She was actually pretty good before someone told her to turn into a
giggling goofball.

Emeril never had any marbles. That was the gourd seeds you heard rattling!

Has Rachel Raye been making any "special" brownies lately?

Emeril's been eating the entire batch. One can tell by his increasing
stupidity and girth.

Guess that just makes him fat, dumb, and happy (read silly).

Since I watch some of the food shows and have my favorites, I get caught up
in their personalities and have looked to see if there are any newsgroups
where people chat along happily about the sort of thing we are talking
about.

I've often wondered about Emeril myself and different scenarios, wondering
whether he was taking a sip too many. I've often wondered also about the
make-up of his audience that seem to think that every ingredient he adds is
something sent from heaven.

As far as Rachel, I have noticed that she is just having too good of a time
out on the town on those $40 days. What's going on?

When I was googling some of these chefs, some were knocking Tyler for having
cliche answers to everything, but I have remained faithful to his charm.
There are a lot of things about him that gross me out about his habits, but
I like his shows a lot.

There should be a newsgroup for foodies, like there is for soaps.

<snip>

Aida, its simply his ongoing tribute to Curly of the Three Stooges;
evidently one of his mentors. (Could be worse, he could have picked
Moe, and poked his fingers into chickens and such. "Why YOU! I
aughta!")

I always think he's a little annoying. Successful, though, so I guess a
lot of people like his antics. If I watch him, I much prefer his
non-audiance cooking so to Emeril Live.

The only thing you have to wonder about Emeril is how fast he's running to
the bank. The man is actually extremely intelligent and the show is just
that "a show." Its what the audiences likes, it's what the audience comes
back for, it's what amuses the audience. Remember, these are NOT cooking
shows. They are entertainment.

The more the masses are entertained. the more people watch, the more the
commercials cost, the more the network makes, the more everyone makes. THAT
is the real world. So, if you're looking for cooking classes, check out the
local college that offers such. If you want to be amused, irritated, laugh,
cry with food the minor player then watch the Food TV channel.

Too bad he doesn't do a REAL cooking show.

I've always known the masses were overrated as are most of the shows they
watch!

He does "Essential Emeril" which has no audience. I've seen a few of them.
I think these shows may be PRE- "Emeril with an audience" show. No futzing
around.

Ever hear of Justin Wilson? Paul Prudhomme? John Folse? Emeril isn't
from New Orleans but it's his adopted home and he's obviously learned a
bit of showmanship from those three (not to mention the marketing).
Anyone can just sit around a fire and tell people what he's cooking, but
it isn't good entertainment, and REALLY isn't a good prime time show.

Emeril does not "entertain" me. Justin Wilson did...and in a natural
sweet way. Emeril is an OAF. I tune in about once a month to see if
someone has told him to stop acting like a 14 year old...with all his
cutesie pseudo-sexual "sausage" jokes and assinine sound effects from
The Three Stooges or whathaveyou...but no one does. The Food Network
loves this crap...because THIS is the American mentality they cater to.

I can (could) tolerate the *natural* antics of Justin Wilson. He was
sweet. Delightful. Emeril is a goddam buffoon. BIG difference. I
don't need "Three Stooges" noises to be entertained while learning
recipes or watching a cooking show. I want to slap the shite out of
Lagasse and ask him how much longer he will feel the need to make an
asseth of himselfeth. He should be ashamed.

Agreed... The Food Network was only good in its infancy.

Amen, Brother! I can't say I have ever seen him cook anything where I
said - "Man, that looks awesome - I think I'll try that!"

I gotta disagree, I love Emeril, he's obviously having a lot of fun,
making a lot of money and people love him. What's wrong folks,
jealous?

Well, to be honest, his Three Stooges imitations are a little bit
irritating.

Rachel Ray can eat crackers in my bed anytime she wants and I love the
new Iron Chef America, saw it last week when Flay slam dunked that
little weenie Bayless. And who can forget a couple of years ago on the
original IC when the victorious Flay jumped up on his cutting board?
WOW did that cheese-off the Japs....God I love it...OOPS gotta go WWF
wrestling is on any minute now...

ALLE CUISINE!!!

Rachael can eat crackers, with cheese and a diet Pepsi, and bring a
copy of TV Guide to bed with her!

Just how cute can a woman be!

But aside from her looks, I do love her recipes. My fiance cook from
her all the time. While we love to cook, for and with each other, we
don't want to spend all day at it. Rachael recipes are quick, easy and
flavorful.

That is a pretty potent combination to beat.

You're absolutely right. I saw her the other night from 2002. She
was demure, precise and overall enjoyable to watch. Nowdays she is a
female Emeril on steroids.
