My Nissan Leaf has 17" wheels so new tires are kinda pricey! But I bought a new set shortly after I purchased it in 2016 too, and new Michelins are fantastic! John Kuthe, RN, BSN... |

Michelins are expensive regardless of size. However they perform very well and give more than twice the mileage of other tires. My wife put Michelins on her Toyota CJ and they got 110,000 miles and will be getting another set shortly. The original factory installed tires didn't get 30,000. My 1965 Triumph TR4 came in with Michelins and the dealer said they would add $500 to the price of the car. At the time I didn't know about Michelin tires, never heard of them. At that time the Triumph cost under $3,000 so I slept on it and the next morning I told the dealer I'll pay for the Michelins. At that time no one knew what a steel belted radial was. I drove that car hard for five years and those tires were still in great shape when I sold it with nearly 150,000 miles on those Michelins. https://tires.tirerack.com/tires/Michelin%20X%20Radial |

That was 1978-79 and Michelins were expensive high end. We picked up more dead Michelins than all other brands combine. Remember the tires of the 50s and early 60s. Every car had a spare tire and they were used frequently. Tires didn't last the way they do now. You'd be lucky to get 10,000 mile s out of a tire. |

Michelins give more mileage because they are harder rubber and thus do not perform as well in terms of traction. In my books, paying extra for tires that do not last as long is preferable because no amount of money saved is worth the risk of increasing the probability & severity of an automobile accident. I've been avoiding Michelins since the 80's. People say they're high mileage tires but I've never found that to be the case. I prefer an Asian tire rather than these French branded tire. My guess is that I don't care much for the French but I'm willing to give them another chance if someone pays me to do it. The tires that came with my Toyota are Michelins. They'll probably need to be changed soon - sacre bleu! |

Got about 35,000 miles on the first one, probably will do that on this one too. |

And I'd bet MONEY on it to! I'd love to take you up on that. Because you'd lose that money, 100%. Instead of being a ****ing moron forever, why not google some facts before opening your stupid mouth? Nissan Leaf/Acceleration 0-100 km/h: 7.9 seconds ROTFL! Even a boring old Toyota Camry kicks your stupid Leaf's ass, LOL: How fast does a Toyota Camry go from 0 to 60? 5.8 sec In 2017, we tested a Camry XSE with the V-6, and it logged a 5.8-second 0-60 run. .... -- The real Bruce posts with Eternal September |
