Tire performance is measured by different metrics. Michelins give more
mileage because they are harder rubber and thus do not perform as well in
terms of traction.
In my books, paying extra for tires that do not last as long is
preferable because no amount of money saved is worth the risk of
increasing the probability & severity of an automobile accident.
Maybe you don't consider human life to be as important as most of us.
