It had never occurred to me to block her on my mail reader. The major problem was her calling me a liar, especially when she could so easily check her outbox and see where the mail went. I don't think that she is quite as stupid as she comes across, though I am not willing to bet on it. |

I's a whole lot easier to not open someone's posts... with each download I simply highlight all the posts from those I don't want to read and they are gone... I can't be bothered with killfile folders because people keep changing their IDs. My way takes less than a minute and it's 100% accurate. |

You don't use a good medium, he uses Agent 8, as do I and he is correct. A click killfiles a poster but it is easier to glance down the list of headers and posters and select the posts you want to read. The only ones I block are the sex ads, it is too simple in Agent to completely obliterate them permanently. |

Don't click the down arrow next to the Followup button, just click the Followup button. The newsgroup auto-fills. Of course there are some trolls who cross-post so you should also pay attention to which newsgroups are included and delete the irrelevant ngs before you hit Send. Jill |

Since this laptop is only a few months old so my filters are relatively new. I have one for cross posting and it is intended for the people who cross post and cross posted topics. In RFC there is only one entry. Another group has a serious cross posting problem. I have several cross post filtres in that one. One is for cross posted topics and there are two for cross posters. I had to start a second one because there were so many names in the first one. The are two types of people who end up with the cross posters filter. One type are the guys who are constantly replying in cross posted threads. Sometimes they are given a break if they participate in local threads. The authors of all new cross posts go into it automatically. Other people may have different experiences, but it is rare that there is much of value to cross posted threads. |

Some of them nymshift so often that it isn't worth the time to filter them. They are likely to reappear within a day under another name. I think most of us have developed the habit of being ware of any new username. Lately we have had to learn to look carefully at the username to see if it is a regular or a frogger. |
