Take a look at this page: <https://www.fooddive.com/news/maker-of-bertolli-olive-oil-settles-class-action-lawsuit-for-7m/521140/> Would they settle the lawsuit if there was nothing to it? If you like the taste of Bertolli olive oil, buy it. Cindy Hamilton |

For some common folk - like me - Bertolli is fine, for "purists" it might be a no - no... What does RACHEL RAY use...??? Really? You're going with Rachael Ray? > [ I don't use that much, the small bottle I have is Whole Foods "365" brand, and no, I've not read the label for "origin" info...] WF 365 olive oil is from California, if I am reliably informed. I use olive oil once a day, on average, drizzled on bread and/or in a salad dressing. I'm not a "purist", but I know what I like and that's what I buy. What I like is Greek olive oil made from koroneiki or kalamata olives. I usually buy this: <https://www.amazon.com/Lapas-Organic-Olive-Oil-25-4/dp/B074J82Q17> I picked up three bottles at Whole Paycheck last week. Cindy Hamilton |

That's a rather violent reaction. It's just some stinkin' olive oil. Sounds like you'd start a war over olive oil. That's so weird. |

The Chinese market for olive oil is huge. Ironically, the Chinese don't even like olive oil. I like soybean oil myself. It's even cheaper than Chinese olive oil. |

Lol... Being stuck at home for work that last nine months, I've seen the gamut of daytime TeeVee (I don't have cable, only OTA). Rachel is kinda "sloppy" in my opinion... The highlight of my "TV workday" is waiting for Jeopardy and then Judge Judy just after. I am now on a three - week staycation, I am currently gettin' me some culchure by having this on, got it for myself as a xmas gift, all three sets (I saw some of these as a kid): http://unitel.de/media/files/flyer/Y..._flyer_WEB.pdf https://www.amazon.com/Leonard-Berns.../dp/B0002S641O "Product Description: Broadcast to millions in America and abroad, the immensely popular series was the winner of multiple Emmy, Peabody and Edison awards. Now this national treasure is available for the first time on DVD in a Special Collector's Edition 9-disc set that contains 25 programs from the Young People's Concerts Series. Leonard Bernstein earned glory as a composer, conductor, and pianist (classical and jazz), but nothing gave him more pleasure than the joy of teaching.. He presented the unique blend of spoken words and music known as the "Young People's Concerts" throughout his tenure as music director of the New York Philharmonic and for several years after. His enjoyment, and his audience's, can be seen vividly captured by the video cameras. He is an intensely interactive teacher, getting his audience to sing, springing a quiz full of trick questions, and singing a Beatles song to demonstrate a point. Bernstein is completely at ease talking to his audience. He can take the most abstruse subject - the meaning and function of intervals, tonality and atonality, the links between Gustav Mahler's troubled life and his music - and present them to a young audience with clarity, without condescension, and with a clear sense of the material's value. His subject-matter is enormously varied. For Igor Stravinsky's 80th birthday, he simply tells his audience the story of Petrouchka while conducting a dazzling performance of the colorful ballet. For a program on "Folk Music in the Concert Hall," he plays some of Canteloube's folk song arrangements and the boisterous finale of Ives's Symphony No. 2, full of borrowed pop and folk melodies. The influence of folk music is shown in folk song imitations by Mozart and Carlos Chavez.. The sound and images, taped over a 15-year span when the art of recording was rapidly advancing, are varied in quality; the series begins in 1958 in black-and-white and ends in 1972 in vivid color. Not all of the programs are equally compelling, but all are worth close and repeated attention..." </> |

There are folks here you say that you are very non-discerning about food. In this case, they'd be correct. Soy oil is the cheapest, shittiest tasting oil, other than maybe Canola. There's a reason why those of us who can taste the difference don't buy cheap, shitty oils. Even me, who is Mr. Frugality wouldn't use soy oil for anything other than starting a campfire. Sunflower oil is neutral. Peanut oil is reasonably neutral. Soy oil is just cheap. --Bryan |

Olives have been grown in western China for a long time and I can't imagine those areas don't use olive oil. Cindy Hamilton |

I'd be stupid to eat something that tastes like that. Don't give me that "you should be eating a more expensive, brand." That line is a lot of hogwash. They all have that unpleasant taste. My guess is that you're tasting old, used, soy bean oil. Do you like the taste of olives? Cindy Hamilton |
