The bill officially went into effect today, thus making Canada the second country in the world, behind Uruguay, to legalize it for recreation, medical use, and cultivation. You can smoke at home and in public (depending on the city), and bring 30 grams of weed on a plane, but you cant get high and get behind the wheel of a car. You can also buy weed online and have it shipped to your house. Forget what I said about the geese, this country is obviously great. Texans like beer and whiskey, they like to get drunk and beat their partners up, go out in the streets and drive till that have a wreck, the only thing I have seen from smoking a joint is a happy mood. I would not drive after smoking tho.

It shows the groups it will be posting to, but you have to look, no
warning pops up. Not sure how it handles the froups though.

Guilty as charged! When loading or reloading Thunderbird into your computer, the default setting on the program when replying to posts on newsgroups is to the poster, not the group. This sets the stage for much embarrassment.

Well that's the way it was. Is it still that way? I don't know since I quit using the program years age. It was pretty good for it's time but times change.

There is no warning that I know of, but when you reply... Follow Up...
to a post in a news group it does show a list of the groups to which the
reply is being sent. If it is a concern to you, then you simply have to
check the list of news groups. I confess to having missed that in the
past, and I have learned that posts tend to get really stupid when they
are cross posted to multiple groups. There is a way to filter cross
posted material and I have found that it works on a lot of the cross
posted stuff but not all of it.

You may need to configure your options for replies, like removing
"reply", which is for email and leave the Follow Up option
