The other day it was said I never say anything about cooking, well
here's the chicken soup I made. I make a large stock pot of it, then
freeze in lunch size portions reusing yogurt pots.

Thanks, it's really one way of not eating only quick or junk food.

I'm using mine...one cup at a time to eat first in the day then
eat other things. It's a very healthy start of the day.

Agreed, looks pretty good! I'm not overly fond of what looks like Kale
but it sure does look good there!

I don't like kale, but, I like it fine in soups.

VERY VERY good looking (the bowl of soup).
I made chicken soup the other day with lots of kale in it.
Is that kale in your soup too? Looks like it.

Anyway, I was going to post a blurry pic of my bowl of soup but
your pic looks almost exactly the same (and it isn't blurry).

Yes, it's kale. I happen to like it but it does go well with chicken
soup. Next one to make will be some of notbobs minestrone, though I
don't do it exactly to his recipe, it got me started. I take soup to
the old lady I visit and she always asks for the minestrone

Looks perfect for this sudden chilly weather, only I can polish off a
quart... my chili bowls are 28 ounces, perfect sized soup bowls for
me.
What are those greens? The only greens I add to chicken soup is curly
leaf parsley and dillweed. Or I do an Oriental flavored chicken soup
with lots of ginger, white pepper, and bok choy....sometimes I add
beaten egg.
If you use squarish freezer containers stacked like bricks they'll
take up a lot less freezer space. I bought a mess of pint size
rectangular containers from the 99¢ Store, empty when nested they
require less cupboard space as well.
Great job! Great dinnerware too, very attractive... the dark blue on
white gives it an Oriental look.

That's why I am soup making again.

It's kale - I tend to mute the seasonings somewhat because I take soup
to an old lady - she's 98 now - and her digestion is not so great.

I admit I didn't think of that but OTOH it is good to re-use something
from the recycling point of view, rather than chucking the yogurt
pots.

I picked it at Royal Worcester because it made me think of crewel work
and I was doing a lot of embroidery at the time.

Completely agree on the re-use and the size is just right for an
elderly lady you are helping out.

I made a fairly large pot of chicken soup too, I made mine cream style. We
will eat it for lunch for two or three days since we both love it, then I
will thicken what's left and make a chicken pot pie out of it.

I like pot pies, not caring much for turkey I always preferred the
turkey pot pie after Xmas. Now that I don't do the Xmas meal, I don't
get the pot pie, win/not win I suppose

I can't tell from the pic (bad eyes, blurry due to

Sorry to hear about the cataracts. The op works wonders. I've had both mine

Good luck)

Thanks; but, I'll be fine. My mother had hers done and all went well a few
years ago. The guy doing it is top rated and the one other ophthalmologists
send their family members to. I'm just nervous about eyes due to a
childhood incident, nothing a Xanax won't take care of. 8-)

I use kale, happen to like it more than spinach, but either are good
for the eyes.

Hope you get the cataracts done soon, it's a marvellous op.

I took the premium lenses, well worth it, but the rest was done by
needle and apart from feeling a very slight pressure on the eyeball,
dead easy. Here, they do one, then the other two weeks later. The
maddening part was all the drops you have to apply afterwards, but
they are key and should be followed to the letter.

Whichever you choose, good luck, you're gonna love the results
