I started working on a list, and got distracted before writing something
down, and now I can't remember what that something is. I need to go to the store because I'm out of coffee and a few other things. The more I try to remember, the further away it slips. Until I am home from the store, then it's front and center. |

However, if I am at the other end of the house I am liable to forget the item, just remember that I am supposed to put it on the list :-(( |

I found a solution in the form of a Google-supplied service called "Google Keep" or "Keep Notes". It's an app that can be installed on Windows, Apple, and Android systems and is linked to a specific Google account that you designate. You can use it to enter not only text notes and lists with a real or virtual keyboard but also hand-written notes (using a finger or stylus), pictures (that you can annotate), and (wonder of wonders) even dictation. The dictation feature is especially useful. It transcribes what you say into text and so far it's been pretty good at getting it right, so long as I speak English. (Turkish *really* confuses it. ;-)) I never have a problem not writing anything down any more because at the very least I'm sure to have my phone with me. Notes entered on one device are instantly shared across every other system that logs into your Google account and has the app installed on it. -- Bob The people your parents warned you about |

When I'm at the other end of the house, I dictate to my cell phone shopping list. Then, before I print up my master list I check my cell phone to make sure everything on the phone list made it to the master list. I print my shopping list because I like to scratch items off as I go along or make notes. My master list has a section for sizes (furnace filter, husband's sizes, light bulb sizes, car batteries, odd stuff that you don't buy every day.) My list is also sectioned off according to which store I shop for an item -- Costco, Albertsons, Winco, Home Depot etc. When I get home I delete items from the computer master list. My list prints out 2-sided but most everything I need to know is there. Janet US |

I'm so happy to hear you say that. It worries me when that happens to me. It's nice to know that I am not alone. You will remember the list item as soon as you begin preparation on the same item. Of course you won't have it. BTDT Janet US |

Quite often when I pick up a buggy at the store it will have somebody's shopping list in the kiddie seat. I always read it to see if there's somthing on it that I need. My husband thinks I'm nuts when I do that. Doris |

If you like having a lot of laughs at your husband's expense, try buying everything on a shopping list you've found. Then pretend that it's the most normal thing to do and say that everybody does it. This ought to keep hubby on his toes. |
