I think what many baking recipes mean is if you use salted butter in a recipe written for unsalted butter you cannot get the original flavor of the final product by using salted butter. Eh, I've once or twice grabbed unsalted when I wanted salted. The labels on the brand that I buy are very similar, and my main goal in the grocery store is to get in, grab it, and get out. I clean and slice the mushrooms, then finely dice a med. onion + black pepper and garlic and cook some in EVOO, and as the mushrooms cook down start adding the spinach. It too will cook down. Make sure you add enough EVOO and black pepper to everything as you add more mushrooms and the spinach to cook. > > I usually eat it on the broccoli or green beans I make for myself, but it's great all by itself too! sounds pretty good, I will try it soon > > John Kuthe... |

Eating rice with food allows you to get away with very salty food. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdT3vhV3DyY&t=2330 === I loved that film:) Thanks:) |

I shop in different stores and they don't always carry all the same brands. I tend to get whatever may be on sale, and they are always well marked as salted on not. |

My wife often asks me if I realized I had bought unsalted butter. I don't know why she asks. She likes unsalted butter and I like unsalted butter, so it's not like I had bought the wrong thing. We don't eat a lot of butter, but tend to stock up on it when it is on sale. |

In Canada (Ontario), the packaging is exactly the same for salted and unsalted. The only difference is the word "unsalted" or "salted". And it comes in a foil brick, not a box of four sticks. Doris |

Dave, do you ever buy no-name butter at Loblaws or No-Frills? The packages do say salted or not salted, but not in particularly large letters. Otherwise the packaging is exactly the same. Doris |

And sometimes people don't have their correct glasses on, and can't see the words on the packages that well. I have the same problem with shampoo/conditioner. Same size, shape, and colour of bottle, with lettering that is hard to read. Doris |
