Default I can't decide...

Steamed mussels in garlic butter over linguini
or
Pan-fried catfish fillet with couscous

Lots of vegetable sides to choose from: cauliflower , broccoli,
spinach, zucchini or yellow squash...

I'd pick Steamed mussels in garlic butter over linguini.

The only curry I can recall eating was made with McCormick's "curry
powder" (whatever that is). Mom made "curried rice". All she did was
add some McCormick's powdered stuff to rice until it turned sort of
yellow. Needless to say, I was not impressed.

I never ate Thai curry when we lived there, then again I was just a kid.
We didn't go out to eat often.

Flashback! My mother made curried rice, that's what she called it.
The dreaded curry smell, I hate it. It was a beef stew over rice,
all yellow.

I know people love it. I can't stand it.

Everyone can have all of mine. Just not near me.

I didn't like curry until I discovered Patak's curry paste and curry
recipes that use coconut milk. I still don't love it and Indian food
is definitely low on my list of restaurants to choose, but I do like
curries that originate from further East.

If I bought curry paste it would probably get one use then just sit. No
problem, I've lived this long without it.

I have to believe you but when I think of curry, it's the stuff
that makes me take a wide berth around the Whole Foods salad bar
whatever it's called. That kind of thing. That ruined
Faneuil Hall last time I was in Boston.

So I'll try not to have such a reaction when I hear the word
curry, that there is more to it.

Whole Foods' curries are absolutely dreadful. The people who consume
them must never have had or made decent curry let alone a good one!

Jean! LTNS! I have yet to have a Whole Foods close enough to shop.
But I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be buying curried anything.

LOL! That stuff is usually bad. (Yes, I have tried numerous things and
sometimes get various veggies on it. They have a new trick he
adding uncooked things to the cooked things. One would think that might
be dangerous.)

I haven't been on NGs much. Volunteering takes a lot of time. I keep
thinking I will get back into NGs. We shall see. Thanks for noticing
my absence!

Hi Jill! I think of you when I hear of bad weather in your area.

I do like curries, but Whole Foods' curries are very harsh and lacking
in nuance. I don't understand why ANYONE buys them.

Sorry, Jean, I lost track of this thread and didn't see your
response.

I didn't know that Whole Foods had horrible curry since I'd
never touch it. All I know is I can smell it.
