Free up some space in your freezer by using some of the food in there. I believe you have said you have a lot of "frozen treats" that you keep for your family. I'd start by not replenishing that stockpile. I have a storage container that I keep in my freezer for non-compostable food waste. It gets emptied into the trash every time I'm going to put out a bag of garbage, then the storage container gets washed out and put back in the freezer. I do this because we have to pay $3 per bag of garbage going out, and we generate *very* little trash other than cat litter. We either compost or recycle everything, but you can't compost meat bones and scraps around here because it attracts coyotes. By freezing my meat scraps, I can get away with only putting out a bag of garbage once a month. Doris |

We generally have a full can when my husband is home. We can't recycle lids and I often get things like Styrofoam that I can't recycle. |

Lids??? Here the trash company wants styrofoam in with the regular trash, not the recyclables bin... makes me happy as they don't want a plastic bag for the recyclables like they want for the trash and so on windy days the styrofoam won't blow all over when they pick up to dump with that mechanical arm. I don't have much styrofoam anyway. I'm very glad that Amazon no longer uses those styrofoam peanuts for packing material, very messy and would fill the entire bin... now they use that bubble wrap with the giant bubbles, I pop them, roll the plastic and staple the little bundle it so it takes little space. I'm the original trash compactor, I crush all cans and plastic containers, flatten all cartons, even small cartons from toothpaste and such gets flattened. I bought a heavy duty stapler to bundle paper, staples 70 sheets, and I use packing tape to keep cardboard flat. I don't mind consolidating trash, I'd rather than have to go to a larger bin. The larger bins don't cost more but they are so large I wouldn't be able to fit them in my garage with the car. |

We pay $17.02 per month (it's called out as a separate line item on our water bill, but we don't have a choice about paying it). We've been provided with a 95-gallon garbage can (on wheels) and another that same size for recycling. They're picked up by a hydraulic arm on the truck, but apparently if we have more than 95 gallons in a single week, we can set bags next to the can and the driver will get out and take care of it. There's no requirement or incentive to compost or even to recycle. We could put all of our recyclables into the garbage (and I'm sure some people in our township do that). No penalty. We typically generate three medium bags of trash per week, although I'm going to round that up to four, because we often have a bag or two from the workshop or garage. So 17.02 / 4 = $4.26 per week, or about a buck a bag for us. We generally fill the recycle bin about halfway up. Cindy Hamilton |

Our normal bill is tons more than that! I had 4 bins of recycling this week but that's more than usual. I got rid of some old cat carriers and there was a lot of packing stuff in some boxes that large things came in. |

You're the one who somehow got the idea that I was going to move in with you - and you posted that to RFC just out of the total blue. After having met you twice at casual austin.food gatherings 2 or 3 years ago and not giving you any indication that there was any sort of romantic interest in the least, you somehow twisted that into MY MOVING IN WITH YOU? That was just way too Psycho for me. I sat there at stared at the screen for at least 15 minutes wondering, WTF? That was just way too spooky. I've met weird, semi-psycho women before but you win, hands down. Mapi of austin.general still holds the male title, but at least he announced his psychosis right there lying on the floor of the bar at B.D. Reilly's rather than romantically obsessing over me for 2 years. Needless to say, you need to come to terms with what happened and why your mind works that way and stop making up excuses for your fixation and disappointment before we become the next Yoli and Michael. I'd prefer you use a sniper rifle on me from a few hundred yards away. There you go - a reason for you to buy yet another gun and ammo. And Jeremy, I was just tired of your decade of bullshit and visions of grandeur about all these things you're "working on" or have not done in the past. Even posting a call for meetings with imaginary people about imaginary projects of yours at "the normal time and place", as if you are somebody important with a life. I'm pretty sure you're manic depressive mixed with habitual liar. Sorry I don't fit either of your Ideal Psycho Pal Profiles. -sw |
