Free up some space in your freezer by using some of the food in there. I believe you have said you have a lot of "frozen treats" that you keep for your family. I'd start by not replenishing that stockpile. I have a storage container that I keep in my freezer for non-compostable food waste. It gets emptied into the trash every time I'm going to put out a bag of garbage, then the storage container gets washed out and put back in the freezer. I do this because we have to pay $3 per bag of garbage going out, and we generate *very* little trash other than cat litter. We either compost or recycle everything, but you can't compost meat bones and scraps around here because it attracts coyotes. By freezing my meat scraps, I can get away with only putting out a bag of garbage once a month. Doris |
