I have been making cinnamon rolls for a few yrs now, and everytime i
make them they get stale before 16- 24hrs, i have tried alot of recipes all say these are the best and that sort of stuff, there is one i did not try yet and she claims her recipe will stay soft and moist longer than most recipes she ever made, her recipe contains fresh mashed potatoes and a cup of potato water. thanks Chet attached is a link of a cinnamon roll recipe using mashed potatoes. any thoughts on this recipe http://www.yummly.com/recipe/Classic...osition=1%2F10 |

Do you have a question, or are you just too lazy to try it yourself? -- Larry |

All proper cinnamon rolls go stale quickly. The originator of the *recipe* should not be condemned to Hell for shitty cooking, but if she ends up there, she had better hope that her cooking is sufficiently shitty to get her a position as cook, rather than dishwasher or table busser. Maybe Chet, if he's wicked, will be condemned for eternity to preparing food that literally causes the eater to vomit on him, and as soon as he cleans off the puke, he'll forget the incident, regain his confidence, and proudly prepare another dish that has the same result. Like that stupid Groundhog Day movie except he never figures out shit. If he's a good boy, and makes it to Heaven, he will be blessed with the cooking skills that he never had in his Earthly existence. Good luck, Chet! > > -- Larry --B |

It's potato bread, not the rich, sweet, dough that's necessary for cinnamon rolls. -- Good Food. Good Friends. Good Memories. |

BFD. It's been a common enough question around here -- "what do you think about....?" "Does this look right to you?" Same thing. Looks like you didn't read the entire post but tuned out after his sig. -- Barb, http://www.barbschaller.com, as of April 8, 2013. |

Those sorts of rolls are meant to be eaten right away. Just make less of them or perhaps put half of them in the freezer. They won't be as good though, once frozen. I have put instant potato flakes in my biscuits and I have mad various potato breads. It's a different sort of taste and texture and not one that I'd want in cinnamon rolls, I think. |

Say what you will about Paula Deen (I certainly do), but I think she hit this one out of the ballpark - the dough and filling were great. A half recipe of the glaze was too much for me - but YMMV (on the filling too), of course... just don't mess around with the dough. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/p...ipe/index.html -- Good Food. I assume there is butter in the dough recipe? Egg? -- Barb, http://www.barbschaller.com, as of April 8, 2013. |
