Default My nephew's restaurant

I've mentioned that my nephew, who's wanted to be a restaurateur since he was
14 or so opened a diner. This year he's gotten a lot of positive press. In
the local tabloids best of, he didn't win any first place awards, but three
runner ups. #5 Favorite Diner, #2 Favorite Biscuits & Gravy, #4 Favorite
Breakfast Selection.

I do have to qualify by saying that the RFT guide is completely bogus as far
as food quality goes, and only reflects popularity. A lot of restaurants
with patently shitty food win.

All you St. Louis folks should check it out.

I do have to qualify by saying that Bryan thinks and feels extremely
egocentrically and somehow believes he has the right to tell everyone
else what they SHOULD like, in food and many other areas!!

Whatta crock! HA!

That's great ! Good for him. I'd love to read about it but you
don't tell us the name of his diner and that
dining guide is a pain to flip through.

and the other link doesn't work.

Congratulations to your nephew! It's great to see someone follow
their dream and be successful at it.

Well, that was better viewed via Firefox for me - the site wasn't
fully functional with Chrome (it could be because of an add on, but my
browsers are pretty much identical in that department)... so I'm
blaming the website designer.

In any case, I looked at the write up for the winner's biscuits and
gravy. Thick gravy is the pinnacle? Ugh! I don't like it already.
That's exactly what I hate about restaurant style biscuits & gravy. I
feel like I'm eating gritty library paste.

We know Bryan quite well. He's a younger version of Notbob. The main
difference between them is Bryan can get to be quite nasty while NB is
just a crotchety PITA - but it's always a "My way or the highway"
attitude. The other similarity is that both are the originators of
all new (to them) ideas - no matter how many times it has been
mentioned here in the past.

Well hearty congrats to the nephew!! It takes a real special hard working person to make a living in nearly any small business..most especially the restaurant business. When I hear of some of the millionaire success stories..I say..hmmmm that person has earned every penny.

And he started it in the middle of a major recession. One smart thing he did was he bought the building. It's pretty cool that it is on Southwest Avenue.

You too? I couldn't get it to work on Chrome either, and same as you, opened it in Firefox.

Okay, now we know it wasn't either of our faults, unless we have the
duplicate add-ons and one of them is screwing it up - but that's
highly doubtful.
