It should read "a small amount of tomato juice and a truckload of
Stolichnaya", on sale this month in the 1.75 size. I also have
Absolute, just in case. Unlimited Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers, wines
and other booze, for all you shy posters and lurkers who are afraid
there won't be enough. I will even get some beer, perhaps Belgian,
which seems to be the one preferred at the moment. So, just let me know
if you want to come. All will be welcome, just announce yourselves
ahead of time, so that I may be prepared.

And don't forget, December 6th is St. Nikolaus Day, with possible treats
left by him for the good guys.

Whoops! Sorry, Sue!! Too bad, Stan! I'll sip a Bloody Mary and recall

Be still my heart! I adore a good Bloody Mary! Here's my favorite way to
prepare them. I use Spicy V-8, not tomato juice. Add a dash of celery
salt, a dash or two of Tabasco and hot Season-All, a squirt of lime juice
and of course, chilled Stoli. Garnish with a stalk of celery and a wedge of
lime. Serve with some good crackers and some of that dip that made Barb so
ill (teasing).

A truckload of tomato juice could imply a trainload of Stoli or Absolut.

I suppose St. Nick is going to leave a switch and a lump of coal for the
others of us.

Count me in on the coal team. I haven't been, nor have I tried very hard to

How funny! I saw something in a catalog the other day, a bag of "coal"
(bubblegum) in a bag "from Santa". Down here in the South, it's switches
and ashes. They never heard of the coal thing.

I can't believe you typed this. St. Nikolaus only leaves good things,
even if he may skip a bad person. He brings candy, tangerines and
walnuts in the shell.

The Krampus leaves the lumps of coal. Or carries off the bad person.
In the same bag as he carries the coal. Or spanks them with his Rute, a
bundle of sticks.

Stephanie Schultz, one of our rfc readers, but not posters, wrote to me
and told me that instead of a Krampus, a Knecht Ruprecht came to where
she lived in Germany as a little girl. He hit the bad ones with a
switch, but also helped St. Nikolaus to carry his heavy bag of goodies.

Much as I hate to say it, I have to give my regrets as I just found out on
Friday that I am going to Provo, Utah that week for business. Since
Saturday stay overs make the airfare much cheaper and I have never been to
Utah before, it made sense for me to plan to arrive in Provo on Saturday.

I am sure everyone will have a wonderful time at Margaret's brunch and you
will all enjoy each other's company. Please post a report about it here.
The web site for the Marriott where I have a room reserved says it has
in-room high speed Internet service, so I should be able to read all about
the brunch while I am in Utah.

Oh, Riga cocktails... don't forget the Tabasco and the horseradish... and lotsa

Knecht Ruprecht's no dummy -- he's sticking close to the goodies!
Prolly would roll Nick in a heartbeat if he thought he could get away

You don't need coal to heat the house in the south, Jillsie. Not like
at the North Pole or Meen-a-sohta.

Well shit, you can lay around at Margaret's; no need to stay home just for
that.

Barb - I will in all likelihood bring the adult female child unit and
her SO, insofar as I'm *supposed* to be there visiting her in the
first place - if Margaret would not mind, of course.

And the NewName is Burd and the New DH is Bill.

Margaret will definitely NOT mind. Please, bring them, they will be
most warmly welcomed.

I'm sure Margaret will not mind. Right, Margaret?

Thanks -- I've got the info somewhere -- but not in my brain yet.

Oh, thank you, Margaret! That is very kind of you. I will alert you as
soon as I am sure her boyfriend will be in attendance.

Hi
I haven't been around much. Is there still an open invitation? What
town etc. if there is? I'm thinking it's somewhere in my vicinity
because the one person who lives 45 minutes from me was going to come
(Stan). Also, I have a 2 1/2 year-old, so if that won't work out I
can't really try to come anyway :-(
?
