In your world, potatoes aren't vegetables?

Why does this bother you so much? These snack foods are far from the
worst, and what is it personally doing to you to have them on Top
Chef? It was only a "Quickfire," not a regular challenge....get over
yourself and just enjoy the show.

I remember a couple years back they had to make an amuse bouche from
a vending machine snack.

It is all about product placement on Top Chef. Always has. I still
enjoy it.

Good grief, it's certainly not the only show that has product
placement! What's the big deal, and who cares, anyway? If it bothers
anyone, don't watch.

Technically - yes. So are canola and other vegetable oils.

Which means that any potato chips fried in greasy vegetable oil can
claim to be "100% real vegetables".

But Alexia cannot claim even that, because, unlike many other potato
chips, much of its crap is of non-vegetable origin:

Wheat Flour, Corn Flour, Modified Food Starch, Acid Whey Powder,
Buttermilk Solids,Cheese(Cheddar And Romano [Pasteurized Milk,
Cultures, Salt, Enzymes], Sodium Phosphate), Citric Acid, Cornstarch,
Cream, Dextrin, Dextrose, Lactic Acid, Rice Flour, Salt, Sugar, Whey,
Disodium Dihydrogen Pyrophosphate (To Promote Color Retention).

Yummeee!!!

Yes, they look like your average supermarket junk food.
