Pigs don't speak English. You always blame it on the guy who doesn't speak English. In pigs' defense. they didn't put themselves in factory farms, which is hypothesized to be a causative factor in the genesis of this strain. > > Steve --Bryan listen @ http://www.MySpace.com/TheBonobos "The 1960's called. Mis-information causes alot of problems, the WHO is the place to get credible information on this outbreak of human influenza. |

The World Health Organization put out up to date information fairly early in the day yesterday, but they're preaching to a load of ratings hungry idiots who don't care what the official voices on the matter have to say if it interferes with spewing whatever keeps viewers tuned in and turned on. > Now VP Joe is telling *his* family to stay off all public airlines. > Nothing like adding gasoline to the fire.... It's a crying shame when the world's health professionals are forced to surrender credibility to ratings and politics, and are perceived as ignorant and inefficient to a public that (let's be honest here) REQUIRES frenzied hysteria to hold its interest. |

Unfortunately there seems to be a large segment of the population that needs the government to "protect them" and is incapable of critical and independent thinking. Biden is a liability, I think, for the president, except as impeachment insurance. It's one thing when someone like me just blurts out whatever the heck he's thinking, but it's different when the guy is VP. He's a fundamentally decent man, but I hope that Obama retires him as a running mate in 2012 in favor of a more careful, articulate Democrat who also shares his values. Obama inspires trust from the Left and Center. Biden does not. It's not policy, but personality. Biden was well respected across the spectrum as a Senator, and trusted as a voice in foreign policy decision making in the Senate. He'd make a great Chair for the DNC. Taking his most urgent action to date since cases of swine flu
were first reported, President Barack Obama today ordered an emergency quarantine of Vice President Joe Biden. According to President Obama, the vice president will be kept in a sealed box away from television cameras and microphones “until we are certain that the danger is passed.” “There is no clear scientific proof that swine flu can be spread by television cameras or microphones,” Mr. Obama said. “But it’s better to be safe than sorry.” |

Lets say you are diagnosed with something and your doc tells you that the treatment is a course of "zelarim" for 30 days. It is commonly used but your doc finishes with "but I wouldn't use that drug on my family". The doc was careful to point out it was his opinion so would that influence you? Disclaimer: the example was not meant to infer that Biden has any knowledge or authority in the subject area (he doesn't) but the American idol/twitter crowd may not know that. |

When I had a few chances to hear him speak off the cuff, I gained new respect for him. He has some good ideas on foreign policy and how to handle Iraq too. |

"Cheesy" is the word that comes to mind when his glad-handing mug pops up on the televisor screen... Too bad Fred Allen isn't still around, he could base a character on Biden, he'd be a snap to parody... -- Best Greg "The trouble with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money."~~~~Margaret Thatcher |
