I cut up Idaho potatoes by hand and was just wondering what to try to
make it faster and easier. |

The next question.....how many are you doing in one shot? Four servings or fifty servings? If you are making four servings, you will find your hand method with a good knife will do the job. It will take you longer to clean a Bron mandoline than hand slice four servings. |

There are very few things I refuse to make at home, and one of those things is french fries from scratch. Store bought are better, cheaper, and more consistent. I'm sure y'all think you make great fries at home, but I'd still think they were inferior. -sw |

I've never found a frozen fry like that, so I make my own. And I use a 1/4" potato chipper I bought at a yard sale. It's a unitasker, but it's good at what it does. |

If I made french fries I'd cut the potatoes with my Cuisinart with its 6x6mm slicing disk in place. It's the one I use for making hash browns, too. -- -Barb, Mother Superior, HOSSSPoJ http://web.me.com/barbschaller - good news 4-6-2009 "What you say about someone else says more about you than it does about the other person." |

Just wash the tatter, put in the slide and lift the handle, perfect rough cut chips 1/2 inch square..something like the English chip sold everywhere in London. I've got my Grandmas, seen them in antique shops and garage sales as well. |
