Default What ever happened to the New England Cook-In?

There was some talk a few months ago about
a cook-in in either Boston or Providence.
Did anything ever come of that? I have been
off for a couple of months due to back surgery
(March and April) and wondered if I missed it
or if it never came to fruition.

I don't know anything about the cook-in, Kate, but I hope you're doing well!

Thanks, Wayne. I hope this is a permanent fix.
Last year I had a discectomy (for herniated disc -
L3-L4) and laminectomy (for spinal stenous of the
spinal canal in the same area). However after that
my spine became unstable and I started having a
lot of pain in my back in December/January so they
did a fusion at L2-L3 and at L3-L4. Now let this be
the end of it! I feel a lot better now. (You probably
didn't really want to hear all the details, though,
right? ;-))

Much better, thanks, Jill. I'm afraid I haven't
really done any cooking to speak of since January.
I was in too much pain so I ordered pizza a lot -
especially while I was recuperating from the surgery.
I'm finally getting my energy (such as it was) back
and have got to get back to cooking. I'm planning
to make a big batch of posole this weekend.

Thanks, Kate, and yes I'm happy to know the details. I'm especially glad
to know that you're feeling much better now since the last surgery. I do
hope this is the end of it for you. I had a back injury last Fall (2
bulging displaced discs), but was able to recover from it without surgery,
through spinal deocmpression. having said that, I don't think I've ever
had a worse pain while I was recovering.
