Default pound of ground beef

If you had a picky husband and a pound of groud beef, what would you do with
them? Also what would you do with chicken quarters?
Thanks,
Cindy

I'd make myself a couple of big burgers or a mini meatloaf and enjoy them
while husband made his own dinner. I'd bake the chicken quarters.

sorry, not an option. Aside from being picky, he's a pretty nice guy.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing!

Next, I'd make meatballs, meatloaf or burgers and then after that I'd fry up
the chicken.

A pound of ground beef will make 3 nice burgers if you grill them. Or
season and crumble-fry it to make taco salads.

If I had a picky spouse, I would hand over the food and have her make
dinner. Since I am single, I would probably make four hamburgers with
that ground beef, eat one for dinner, then bring the rest to work for
lunches. I would probably marinade the chicken quarters in soy sauce
with whatever herbs and spices I have on hand that go well with poultry
and broil them.

I know what I would like to do with him. <wink>
Ask him to cook what he would like with the ground beef and
chicken.

Then... I'd go out for dinner. :-)

Really.... what does he like? Meat loaf? Spaghetti?
Salad? Fried chicken? More hints would be helpful.
Does he like spicy foods? Italian?

Well, I suppose that would depend on what he likes to eat. Since you say he
is picky, it would help to know what sorts of things he likes or doesn't
like.

If it were me, I'd take the ground beef and make it into chili, hamburger
gravy, sloppy Joes, some sort of pasta dish, Spanish rice, cottage pie, or
soup.

I don't do chicken quarters and am not really even sure what that is. But I
do have some chicken legs tonight that are already cooked. Daughter and
husband love them. I'm not a chicken person. I am serving those with a
huge tossed salad of all sorts of raw veggies and black olives, spicy pinto
beans (cooked from scratch) and some spicy rice. I'll have the beans, rice
and salad and they'll have it all.

Eeeeeew. I don't think I've had Hamburger Helper since I was a kid. I did
kind of used to like the Cheeseburger Helper though. But I found for less
money I could get the same thing by adding browned ground beef to a cheap
package of cooked mac and cheese, adding some more shredded cheese to it
just before serving. Good and bland and rib sticking.

thanks for the suggestion. I think he likes *most* of the things on the
list.
He's not really very much into spice.
Thanks to all who made suggestions.

Go out for a mani-pedi after telling husband to invite his buds over and
let them drink beer to excess as they grill the chicken and make burgers
any way they like...

How disgusting. It not only has a condensed "cream of" soup, but
canned potatoes. Who would eat this crap? The neo-troll who posted
it?

Meatballs. If you want to do it all at once, make about 12 big ones
using 3 separate methods - Italian, Persian, and Spanish, for example.
Serve with rice, couscous, or buttered feteccini.

Don't you mean Ditch the Bitch err wife?

with a pound of hangaburger...I make taco stew...fry up the burger with
some onion, minced garlic, salt and pepper; move it to paper towels to
drain...fry up some chopped bell pepper, chopped tomato, sliced mushrooms
and maybe corn (optional)... re-introduce the beef add 2 cups sour cream
and taco seasoning to taste (3 tbsps for me) and stir well... transfer to
plates...sprinkle on the shredded cheese. Serve with corn chips, or not.
Viola supper.

Yep. Gout.

Pepperoni, sausage, olives, bell peppers, mushrooms. I figure the
mushrooms, pepperoni and sausage bit me.

I knew it would happen. It was sitting in the freezer for TOO long, dammit!
:/

No more pizzas. The danger has passed!

If I wanted to eat today then I'd make a cottage pie, if I wanted to eat
tomorrow, a chili

My "discoveries" when making the first are a) making a stock using stock
cubes AND dried mushrooms and b) adding tomato purée to the onions as
they finish cooking and letting it cook out before mixing them with the
rest.

My discovery for making a nice chili is to add to roasted peppers or sun
dried tomatoes, not authentic I know but I like the result

Think large vise. Put whole foot in and tighten till tears begin to
flow. Now, get a bed of hot coals up to grilling speed.....

I just had a gout scare last week. Thought I might be having an
attack so immediately got off my feet and made a doctor appointment.
It passed and I'm ok. Whew!!

It's an equal opportunity arthritis. Mine began in my right foot, then went
away and reappeared in my left big toe. It probably festers in the feet
more often due to circulation and gravity.

A MAJOR attack like Ward described can be crippling!

Not can be, is!

A full blown attack had me down for several days. I was on crutches for
another week and a cane for several weeks after that. It's no party.

How about spaghetti with meat sauce? Most people like that.

Kris, who luckily has a husband who reveres whatever she cook

Yep... that was hubby too. It travels. It can be in your big toe,
little toe, heel, knee. Hubbys first attack was in his knee. He had
finished laying a floor downstairs and thought he's messed up his knee
doing that, so he was on ice for days until I finally convinced him to
see the Dr.
