Default Favorite fruit for a hot day?

I just finished 2 lbs. of red seedless grapes! So refreshing!!!

Just pop 'em in your mouth, no chin juice. or sticky fingers. Just so full of
cool sweet juice. Like biting into a sweet raindrop.

If I was a bird right now, I'd be laying down drunk 'til Friday! "Twoot,
twoot!"

Grapes. My favorite fruit for a hot day.

Yours?

Grapes are so good Maybe that's why my brown thumb has been
attempting to grow three grape vines the past few years. Today I was
mortified! One of the danged furry-tailed rats climbed one of the vines
and pilfered a few immature grapes only to waste them! As Andy would
say, The BUM(s)!

My favorite is really a fresh fruit salad with watermelon, cantaloupe,
peaches, plums, strawberries, blueberries, bananas and any other ripe
fruit available.

Yum, I wouldn't turn that down if you offered it to me! Mix in some
vanilla yogurt and call it a meal.

I like melon, cold watermelon is great or a 1/2 cantalope/honeydew
with a scoop of vanilla.

Chilled cantaloupe. I absolutely love grapes, but they don't like me back.
Nor do strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, oranges, lemons, starfruit - basically
anything the least bit acidic. So, I stick with blueberries, cantaloupe and
cherries. Yum!

Cold and crunchy Bing cherries; cold and crunchy red seedless grapes.
Cold watermelon if it's good.

Peaches, nectarines, raspberries, and blackberries. The Himalayan
blackberries at the end of the street will be ripe in a couple of weeks.
I may miss my bus due to too much grazing!

Hey, thanks to whoever suggested frozen grapes. I've been eating a
bunch of those for a couple days now. Mmmmm!

Even better are sweet green or red seedless grapes, frozen in
the freezer. The texture is only slightly crunchy and they keep
for a long time, tho' I can't say they ever get the chance. The
idea of freezing grapes is not mine but try a few if you don't
believe me!

James,

I just tried a dozen (green seedless). They weren't crisp and juicy, rather
icy/mushy inside with a chewy skin and too cold.

Might be good for taking on a hike or to the park in peak heat so they don't
turn to mush so soon.

I wouldn't defrost them; I'll bet they'd become mushy. I like to
take a few from the freezer to eat then an there and I like the
texture and temperature as do most of my acquaintances who have
tried them. But to each their own :-)

Thank you, Mr. Silverton. I had forgotten that I used to enjoy frozen
grapes. I forgot for the last forty years. The next green seedless that
I get are going in the freezer. That's a taste from my childhood that
doesn't require a recipe. Only a memory. You jogged mine.

A friend got me to try frozen grapes many years ago -- I thought he
was nuts, but they're really good. Although my personal favorite fruit
for hot days would be cold pineapple...

Melons. Watermelon, cantaloup, honeydew. I find them much more refreshing
than any other fruit.

Gotta be watermelon! And, I like it best at room temperature; the
flavor just seems more intense that way. Of course, you DO have the
aforementioned problems with "chin juice...sticky fingers", ha! But
you can just take a chunk outside in your lawn work clothes, gobble it
down, and use the garden hose for a quick, refreshing rinse.

I love peach and orange juice together. I don't think there's a better

Yeah, and throw in a jigger of Peach Schnapps and it's called a Fuzzy Navel
Add the orange juice last.

My absolute favorite is a good mango and Kili you reminded me, it does
sort of taste like an orange and a peach mixed up. Nothing more yummy
than slices of a cold good mango!!!

I know it is totally tropical, but my grand mother used to freeze
lychees just as they came from the tree- with the skins on and they
were so yummy! Peel the skin, suck on the frozen fruit and throw the
seed away.Go back again and again. Along the lines of the frozen grape
idea.

Just had some cold juicy watermelon last week and that was excellent!
