Default Recipe for Aztec-style Hot Chocolate Drink

Aztec-style Hot Chocolate Drink

Ingredients

1 cup skim milk
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1 whole nutmeg seed (freshly ground)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon sugar

Directions

Simmer the milk under low heat, then add in the ingredients, melting
the chocolate. Continue simmering for about 15-20 minutes. Cool and
serve. This hot chocolate has a robust, slightly bitter, earthy flavor.

You totally left out the hot chiles. That would seem essential
to Aztec-style chocolate!

I don't think Aztecs had cows and finding skimed lama milk might be hard
these days. And nutmeg might be out too. So much for authenic.
