Default Rotelli marinara dinner

FBG 94. Rotelli marinara with shrimp & mushrooms for dinner, topped with
grated Pecorino Romano. It was real soul food. I got Jun to eat half of the
rotelli. Still, one hour PP BG 151, two hour 153.

Next time you might try adding in some green or wax (yellow) beans. Makes
it less carby and the beans mix well with the sauce.

Thanks, Julie. I'll mention that to Jun. Maybe Italian Fajioli (cannellini
beans). Mmmm. Pasta Fazool!

That wouldn't lower the carb count though.

But I'd eat less pasta and more beans, and still be eating soul food! Since
yesterday's post, I've remembered that, when I was a kid, my Grandmother
used to make pasta fazool at least once a week. I'd forgotten, because it
wasn't the main course.

Nick,

I know you are Italin and regard pasta as moother's milk, but you keep
trying and getting these hig readings at 2 hours , no different or even
higher than 1 hour. there may be a lesson in there somewhere. I don't
tink a BSHS graduate should have a hard time figuring that out. Try using
some of the no pasta tricks like using string or wax beans, whole, with
the delcious toppings or even spaghetti squash. It is not the same, but
makes a pretty good imitation tht doesn't drive your bgs up.

Yo remind me of my younger son who attended a school that required wearing
a tie to school. He was constantly testing what constitutes a "tie."
Well, he found that wearing a fancy shoelace around his neck didn't cut
it. He was sent home to get a proper tie and got cuts for the missed
classes. He has grown up just fine and is currently teaching biology at
Queens College in NYC and doesn't own a suit. some things never change,
but you can:-)

Thanks, Mom. ;-) I have no trouble not eating or cutting way down on rice,
potatoes and corn, but a day without pasta is like a day without sunshine.
Jun doesn't make it very often for me. I'm gonna try Pasta Fazool.

Thanks for the Bronx Science jab. Ouch! ;-D
