Hello All -
Quick question here about degassing. I have a degassing wand that under the instructions should not be operated over 1200 RPM - no problem. My question is which of these two options is better - 1.Operate the drill at a lower speed (550 rpm) which will allow it to be in the wine for the 15 seconds in the instructions or 2.operate the drill at high (1000 rpm) which i can only do in 3-4 sec bursts before a vortex starts to form (which i obviously don't want) I know the real answer is 3.) which is to age the wine to naturally degass in a glass carboy but due to the amount of space in my apartment just isn't possible yet (i'm working on it) Thanks to all that respond, Jason |
