Default Bad Durkheim Wein Festival

Evenin-

Just got back frmo Germany and had the chance to drive up to Bad
Durkheim for their wine festival. I've got to tell you I've never had
so much fun in my entire life- or at least very close to the most fun
I've ever had.

The surprising thing (for me) was that I went expecting to be able to
taste the new wines- and they were selling them wholesale 0.4 cL
glasses for 4 euros. That means 2 glasses = 1 bottle of wine.

Alot of the Germans cut their wine 50/50 with mineral water- I didn't
try it but it would certainly let you keep going longer.

On the way out stopped at a few wineries where they had tastings and
discovered that their Chardonnay tasted very strongly of Reisling-
especially since it wasn't oaked. This was the first time I had
experienced that- maybe a regional aspect?

Lots of fun- and an incredible place.

Jason
