Default Nut tree festival

I attended at first attempt at an annual nut tree festival in Ottawa last
weekend. It was held in a cummunity meeting area at the local newpaper
building and was crowded. There was an interesting talk from an immigrant
Russian scientist about walnut cultivar research in Rostov. Most of teh
attendees were hobbyists, a few who have been growing nut trees and losing
money for years, tending them in their spare time. Others, like myself,
just interested in collecting and preserving wild nuts, and saving the
native butternut from extinction.
