Default [TN] 2004 Joseph Swan Pinot Noir "Great Oak VIneyard"

Tonight, with grilled quail, this was a Wow wine. The nose was a
beguiling mixture of baking spices, pencil lead and tart raspberry
fruit. On its own, it was a bit too tart to appreciate, but with the
food the richness of fruit was evident and the acidity in perfect
balance. Tasting blind, I would almost certainly have placed this wine
in the Cote de Nuits. Certainly this wine has years of life left, but it
can be enjoyed with great pleasure now.
