Default Dinner Wines

I had some friends for dinner this weekend at my farm including Beth
Nickel owner of Far Niente and Nickel and Nickel. I opened a few
wines with dinner:

2000 Far Niente Chardonnay 3L-The wine was clear and bright with good
nose of fresh apples and almonds. Very complex on the palate and
while mature certainly not over the hill or maderized. Plenty of
complexity with citrus zest, pear and apple, a bit of vanilla. One of
the better mature Napa chards that I've had. "A-"

2006 JJ Prum Riesling Auslese Graacher Himmelreich-Exotic spices on
the nose no hint of petrol, apples and peaches on the palate with a
finish of tart lime. Smooth and slightly sweet with firm acidity on
the finish. "B+/A-"

2003 Nickel and Nickel Dragonfly Vineyard cabernet-Nice medium
bodied. Cedar and spice on the nose with a bit of cassis and black
cherry. Lifted flavors of red cherry, raspberry and mint with a core
of cassis under everything else. Smooth soft tannins. B+

1990 Chateau Mouton-Quite dark in the glass. Plenty of barnyard and
graphite on the nose. The usual Mouton flavor profiles of cassis,
black fruits and currants with a bit of cedar and espresso. OK but
not stunning. B-
