Wine vending machines in Pennsylvania
At first I thought "why bother?", until I read that supermarkets
normally don't sell wine there, so it is some sort of improvement. It has still way to go, I think, before the ideal situation is reached, where wine is available 24 hours a day. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-10889329 -- You'd be crazy to e-mail me with the crazy. But leave the div alone. -- Whoever bans a book, shall be banished. Whoever burns a book, shall burn. |

No, in Pennsylvania wine is sold only through state-owned stores or by PA-based winemakers themselves. IIRC, these "vending machines" aren't exactly the stick-your-money-in-and-get-the-bottle type. You have to show your driver license or state ID to the machine and wait for approval from a state bureaucrat who is remotely monitoring the machine. I'll be glad if this state ever stops treating its citizens like subjects, but I'm not holding my breath. Dan-O |
