A red grape called plavac mali
I saw this in a recent article:
"Vineyards on the Croatian island of Hvar produce primarily white wine. But the area is also known for a red grape called plavac mali, or mali plavac. Many believe this is the original zinfandel." Any thoughts on plavac mali? Story link: http://www.sanluisobispo.com/mld/san...ne/7834626.htm Thanks - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - http://www.SloCountyWineries.com "An Interactive Exploration of San Luis Obispo County Wineries" -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |

According to the best authority on this subject, Dr. Carole Meredith at UC Davis, it's the other way around: Zinfandel is actually one of the parents of plavac mali.
