Default 2006 Yann Chave Crozes Hermitage

With grilled pork tenderloin for dinner last night we opened a bottle
of 2006 Yann Chave Crozes Hermitage. Deep saturated purple black in
the glass. Plenty of oak on the nose with berries and herbs and a
touch of smoked bacon fat. Medium heavyweight on the palate with a
touch of bretty character. Blackberry and blueberries, vanilla, green
sage and a bit of gravelly mineral notes on the palate. A bit too
California in style for me, too concentrated, too oaky, too fruity.
Not as good as I remember it. "B-"
