TN: '06 Jadot Chassagne
With some lightly breaded flounder and a lovely combo of roasted sweet
potatoes, shallots, and kale, the 2006 Louis Jadot Chassagne- Montrachet. Big sweet pear fruit, very prominent sweet toasted oak. Nice balance of acidity and fruit, good length and concentration. Big for a village wine, but not ungainly. But currently showing a bit too much wood for my tastes. I'm certain a few years will let it integrate a bit, but then I worry does anyone know for sure the PremOx curse is over? I'll wait a couple of years, and hope for the best. B Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency. * |
