hi!
i'm new here and i'm really hoping that i could find some really nice people to help me out. Anyway, i just wanted to learn how to make some homemade wine. I haven't purchased my equipment first since i don't really know if i have to. I read a blog about wine making kits that says i can use substitutes. but i think i want to be safe by asking someone first. is it possible to substitute the tools? will that make any difference? oh and those wine making kits? is it advisable for beginners to ferment the concentrated grape juice sold in the internet or is it better to start with fruit juices that you juice yourself? thanks guys... expect me to ask more questions.. hehe |

What you really need is a suitable space (fresh, clean, water, etc), and GRAPES! No commercial juices and all that sort of mud. Luk |

This is a wine drinking newsgroup, not a winemaking one. You would very likely get much better results if you would ask your questions in rec.crafts.winemaking. -- Ken Blake Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

Sorry, I'm not aware of a newsgroup called "r.f.wine." Do you mean rec.crafts.winemaking? If so and if you are a participant there, I'll defer to your better knowledge of it than mine. I've actually never been there myself, and my comment above was based solely on its name. -- Ken Blake Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

Hi folks,

I know that the rules for creating newsgroups in the "official" hierarchies are complex, but - if they are anything like the French ones, they aren't impossibly so. Given that a.f.w. has existed perfectly peacefully for a number of years, but that ever increasing numbers of news servers are dropping the entire alt hierarchy, or considering it, does anyone think that it might be worthwhile starting the process off? |
