Vegan (alt.food.vegan) This newsgroup exists to share ideas and issues of concern among vegans. We are always happy to share our recipes- perhaps especially with omnivores who are simply curious- or even better, accomodating a vegan guest for a meal! |

My guess is that food animals are such because they are docile. Carnivores are rarely docile. Lazy sometimes, like lions, but not often placid. I imagine the thinking went something like, "When I try to brand that animal, will it turn my torso into confetti?" Tangentially related, I recall reading a SF story (by CJ Cherryh, maybe?) that featured a race of beings that ate only carnivores that also ate only carnivores. This was supposed to imply ultimate superiority on the food chain. -Vioxel pamitySpam Just remove all the spam and such. |
