even weirder, splenda bothers me not at all, and i can eat all the fresh
strawberries i want, but the frozen make me have symptoms not unlike anaphalatic, sp shock, my throat, mouth and tounge swell to the point of impairing breathing... the nutrea crap gives me similar but not as sevre swelling but a 12 oz can of diet soda will send me to th er for a migraine shot... it is my weird allergies that make me so accepting of others dietary habits, if i am allergic to things so natural as fresh pineapple, frozen strawberries, it is very easy to beleive that while for me animal protien is a must for weight control and general feeling well, that others can and do have very bad negative reactions to same. no supposedly according to him the cold/heat affects the cell structure and
chemical make up of various foods, sorta like pine trees don't procreate until there is a fire and the cones explode... have tried pineapple on several occasions, strawberries a couple times, but accidental ingestion keeps me very aware of its negative effects, Lee "Ozgirl" > wrote in message ... > Could it have been a preservative? Fresh pineapple just kills me! It isn't an allergy but it gives me blisters in my mouth. Same for oranges unless they are processed in something. As for frozen things, I don't much like them. I can have something if it is super hot outside. But as a general rule, yuck. |

It was hard and tough and had some of those little brown bits still on some pieces. Not sure what you call them. I ate it with cottage cheese. Not long after is when I threw up. But we don't buy them very often because there is just sooo much meat in a melon. She can never eat it all before it goes bad. When I find cut up ones, we will buy a piece or some chunks. Last summer, Central Market had a melon tasting. They must have had 50 kinds of melon there! I didn't know so many existed. She ran around with toothpicks, picking chunks out of the ice and eating them. Then when it came time to buy some, she couldn't decide. She finally chose two. And wouldn't you know... They never got eaten. Went bad before I could fix them. I used to buy a lot of them in NY. I have a couple of platters that are full of that blue ice type stuff. You keep them in the freezer and they will keep your food cold for a couple of hours or more, even on a hot day. I used to cut up lots of fruit and put it outside for all the kids. ![]() "Stormmee" > wrote in message ... > the blisters are an allergy, lol, Lee No, they're not. I've been IgE and IgG tested and I'm not allergic. There is some way to treat a fresh pineapple so that it won't do that. Has something to do with cutting the top off and letting it stand, upside down in the fridge, I think. I don't like pineapple so much that I would try it. I also have something called OAS (oral allergy syndrome) to almonds and pistachios. This is also common for people to have with raw foods but they can eat the cooked. |

He can eat the whole thing by himself in two days. Also get the plain pineapple for him. Pineapple doesn't bother him. He lived in Hawaii for a while. For Angela I just get the sliced apples and the canned pears. She likes to eat the apples with hummus. Today at Rite Aid we got some cups of canned pears with spoons attached. She took one in her lunch today. She LOVES canned pears! |

many people are "burned by pineapple" some more then others...I saw a
sciencey story on it and some people react to the acid and others a chemical in it and some get a double whammy. the worst cases can of course die but even some milder cases blister enough to permanently scar the eater...not cool. I would imagine people reacting to canned are bothered by the acid and the metals from the can..a lot of brands coat the inside of the cans now. ok we are on semantics here so i accept your definition, the allergist told
me there are several definitions of "allergy' and allergic' his definition is the broader it affects you physically in some way that is negative, this is not nessarily a hystamine reaction... if you remember that treatment for that pineapple i sure would spent the money to try that on a pinapple, they make me uncomfortable and blister me but i don't get a migraine/swelling from them so it would be worth trying as i do like them and would love to eat raw. canned doesn't bother me at all and i can eat a bit of frozen if i don't
overdo it, i can also get fresh and cook it in something and thats fine. i love pork and pineapple in the slow ocooker. makes the meat extremely tender and adds a mildly sweet flavor witout being overpowering, can post what i do if anyone is interested. Sorry, I don't remember the exact thing. It was posted on the raw vegan food forum some time ago. Not really sure it works. But they say it does. I tried to google it but got nowhere. |

As a kid, I would make chocolate pudding so that it was really thick. Have to do the cooked kind to get that. I don't normally like pudding as is. I would take a package that serves 4 and cook it down to 2 servings. I would then cool it and add canned pears. My family thought it was disgusting. Since we have pear trees, I have tried pears in a variety of recipes. Mostly I used them like apples, but we just didn't like the end result. I did mix some with apples and we made what Angela calls papplesauce. It was okay. But applesauce is better. And before we knew of her wheat allergy, I made bread with them. It was okay too, but you couldn't really taste the pears. |

pear sauce made like apple sauce is a gret binder in brownies instead of

them Pineapple will make the poop taste bad...if they are eating another dogs poop that dog also needs to be fed pineapple...it's the enzyme in them...or you could sprinkle meat tenderizer on their food...probably cheaper then pineapple..... ![]() "Ozgirl" > wrote in message ... > > > "KROM" > wrote in message > ... >> my wife's niece has a sever allergy to pomegranate and she loved it so >> shed sneak it and her lips would swell to disturbing proportions and >> split and bleed. >> >> >> I react to fresh pineapple but not canned some people are the reverse. >> >> KROM > > Fresh pineapple "burns" my mouth.
