Sushi (alt.food.sushi) For talking sushi. (Sashimi, wasabi, miso soup, and other elements of the sushi experience are valid topics.) Sushi is a broad topic; discussions range from preparation to methods of eating to favorite kinds to good restaurants.

Default Semi OT - URLs for two "Japanese Manners" sites?

About a month/maybe two months ago, there was a url going around that linked
to a "How to properly enjoy sushi" web page? It was, of course, a complete
spoof, from exactly where to place your hand on the noren to enter to how to
eat your meal and ask for the bill, etc. I had it book marked and for some
reason known only to Internet Exploder, the reference has vanished. Anyone
happen to have it?

The other one that I was looking for was a bit more legitimate - it was a
complete guide to manners in Japan but done with limited animation. It was
very good and quite accurate - how to visit a business office, exchange
meshi, how to act if taken out for drinks after work, how to act if actually
invited to a Japanese home, etc. Again, my bookmark for this one has also
disappeared.... If anyone has this one, it would be most appreciated.

Thanks to all,

Edvardo

Yep - that's the joke one, thanks for the reference.

Now if I could find the "legitimate" one, it would be perfect. That one is
set up like a learning course - really detailed information, like who stands
where in an elevator, seating precedence at business meals, how to act if
taken out drinking by your business contacts, etc. Clunky almost stick like
animation, but *lots* of good advice and info.

Man those are tedious. Makes Japan look like no fun at all.
