Default Reduction to triviality

Well, I have always said it -- sourdough bread is real easy to make.
Now that everyone has learned how to do it, I guess there will be
no more posts.

Ed Bechtel responds:

There might be better response to your post if you include the word
-onion- in the subject.

There, is that better?

Although I think that since I was able to find a work around to get
around the b0rken gateway nobody reading from the mailing list can see
my messages anyway.

Ed Replies:

Brian, that was good. Now, can you sneak into my citicard account
through your gateway and lower the balance, just a tad.
Guess I need to understand the difference between mailing list and the
groups.google.com reader sometime.

A mailing list is a list that is mailed to... you see the messages in
your email, using Mail transport (instead of News). Mail is a 'push'
technology--that is, you have no choice in what you wish delivered--it
just is pushed into your mailbox. News is 'pull' technology in that you
select what you wish to read and then pull it to your view. There are
other differences as well but that's realllly going offtopic.

And Mike... OK, I thought with my reply-to-munge you'd be receiving a
bounce with message I posted.

system and Linus Torvaldis claims to be trying to take over the world...
