Pan American Steak
purchased from Rodgers Estate in Greenville, Texas Date on card says it came from a 1940.s magazine. This is very good. I made it for supper club and it was a huge hit. 1/4 pound butter Juice of 2 limes 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 cup burgundy wine 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon soy sauce 1 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (I left this off, since MSG is not good for you) 1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce Salt and pepper to taste 3 pounds porterhouse steak, 2. thick Combine all ingredients except steak in a saucepan and simmer for 3 minutes. Pour over steak and marinate for 1 to 2 hours, turning steak every 15 minutes. Cook under broiler or over hickory chips and charcoal. For best results, baste often with sauce. -- Rec.food.recipes is moderated by Patricia Hill at . Only recipes and recipe requests are accepted for posting.
