Default Pear French Toast

Pear French Toast

1/4 cup + 3 Tbsp brown sugar, packed, divided
6 Tbsp butter, divided
1 1/4 tsp cinnamon, divided
2 1/2 cup fresh pears, peeled & sliced
3 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp nutmeg
6 slices French bread 1 inch thick
Vanilla ice cream, optional

Using a large skillet combine the sugar, 2 Tbsp butter,
1/4 tsp cinnamon cook until sugar is dissolved. Add the pears & cook
until tender then reserve the mixture. In a bowl combine eggs, milk,
vanilla, nutmeg, remaining sugar & cinnamon. Dip bread into egg
mixture to coat each side. Melt the remaining butter in your skillet
& fry the bread until golden brown on each side. Top with the pear
mixture & ice cream, if desired. Serve warm.

Serves 6
Time 30 minutes
