![]() Mongolian Beef submitted by butterflydog from NY, US 2 Tbsp cornstarch 2 Tbsp oil 2 tsp salt 2 tsp sugar 2 tsp soy sauce dash of white pepper 1/4 cup oil ( for cooking ) 1 tsp garlic minced 1 bundle green onion cut into 2 inch pieces 1 pound of beef sirloin, thinly sliced Mix cornstarch, oil, sugar, salt, soy sauce and white pepper in a bowl. Toss in thinly cut steak strips and marinade to coat meat. Cover and chill one hour. In a hot wok, heat oil till sizzling hot. Add beef to sides of wok, letting them fall into base of wok. Reserve remaining marinade. Cook and stir beef often about 3 to 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds more. Add green onions and reserved marinade. Cook 30 seconds more. Serve beef over cooked rice or Asian noodles. Yield 4 servings.
