Gentle Readers,

Once again we are experiencing forged posts. Several of you
have written to complain about messages which appear in the
newsgroup which are not recipes and are off-topic.

We have determined that this is the work of net vandals. If a person
knows how, they can get things on the group without going through the
moderator. This is called forging a post. Once we see their article, we
can cancel it. After we cancel it, newsservers will not display the
message. We get these from time to time--perhaps one or two a year. When
we can pin it down to somebody specific, we notify their Internet Service
Provider to have their service discontinued.

We appreciate your interest in rec.food.recipes
