Default Beef Stew

Beef Stew

10 pounds Beef Stew Meat
3 cups carrots, sliced
3 cups onions, diced
1 cup turnip, diced
6 cups hot water
1/2 pounds drippings
1 cup peas
Salt and pepper
1 cup flour
3 cups cold water
Fat to fry

Melt the fat in a large pan until the fat is smoking hot. Fry the meat
until it is nicely browned. Add hot water and simmer an hour and a half,
adding more water if necessary. Add vegetables and simmer a further half
hour. Mix flour with cold water, add seasoning to taste, and pour slowly
into the stew, stirring constantly until slightly thickened.
