Went to the opening of the Farmer's Market on Saturday, picked up
lovely b**ts. Made 9.5 pints Red Wine Pickled B**ts. Will make one more batch of Sugar Free same and a batch of fancy shaped ones for gifts in weeks to come. That last one makes about 50% waste, but I'll eat the trimmings, yumm all those vitamins! Edrena Faithful Disciple of St. Vinaigrette |

I use Cabernet Sauvignon, a medium priced one. An excellent wine is wasted in with the red wine vinegar and a poor wine will only take away from the joy. Let me know if you can't find it on google. Look for Red Wine Pickle B**ts. The ** is because our Mother Superior has an unwarranted, irrational, totally communist aversion to our beloved veggie. But we like her anyway. Edrena |
