Default Tilia Bags loosen up in freezer

Is this because what's in them shrinks or are they defective?

It's because shrinks as it freezes. I generally freeze some things that
I know will shrink before bagging them. If it's meat the bag is
defective as the vacuum will pull air out of the meat before it seals,
usually at one of the seams you made, ie the bottom or top.
