The butter beans came out beautiful, has been at least 40 years since I
put any of those up so am pleased. "So Easy to Preserve" has become our premier preserving book and we used the recipe from that. Had to run down to the local Kroger and buy a case of Ball pint jars. Can't believe I had run out of pints, probably could have used quarts but that size jar would feed us beans for a week. Probably go to Big Lots this week and pick up a couple of cases of Golden Harvest. They're all made by Jardin anyway so there's only a difference in cost between brands. Big Lots is about twelve miles away and the jars run around five bucks a case usually, beats the high price in the supermarkets. George, resting on his laurels A belated Mother's Day to all of you mothers. Miz Anne got a dozen white roses from me and phone calls from both the kids, she's still smiling. |
