Default Pears

Whew! My pears finally ripened up. It's been so long since I've canned
pears that I forgot they have to be picked green and then allowed to ripen.
I've been waiting since last Thursday for them to be ready to deal with. So
yesterday enough of them were ripe to do 10 pints and then this morning I
did the rest and got 12 pints. So a total of 22 pints out of 25 pounds of
Bartlett pears. All were canned in extra-light syrup.

Now it's time to go check my green beans to see if I finally have a canner
load of them.
