Default Making Cider vinegar

Hi, I bought some raw cider to make cider vinegar, since the real
stuff isn't available in stores anymore. I got it to ferment into
hard cider but it just sits there in the jar and doesn't turn into
vinegar. How can I make it finish?

I do have a lid on it to keep out dust. could that be it? how long
til it turns to vinegar usually? it's been sitting in that jar since
September.

Is there anyway to encourage it to turn?

And someone please tell my why *I* have to enter a silly weird word to
post this and other people can spam the list a half dozen times with
adds and stupid stuff.

Thanks for any help, Kitty

Yup, that's probably it. The bacteria in the air has to get to the hard
cider to be able to turn it into vinegar. Try putting some sort of mesh
over the top or just leave it open.

I don't know, are you talking about some sort of password? Generally a
news reader program doesn't require a password.

You might try Googling on the subject next time. A fast Google turned up
thousands of references to making apple cider vinegar. Here's one:

Where do you live that you can't get the real thing? I get it at my health
food store.

Our SprWalmart carries it also, but look out for that "cider-flavored"
vinegar. i don't think it's the real deal.

I think you are talking about a "captcha", which is used to verify you
are a real person and not a spambot.

That would depend on what newsreader service you are using. I know
verizon dumped NG service for rec. (I think) alt. and some other
hierarchies. I don't know if that has something to do with it if you
are accessing usenet through a 3rd party.

yeah, I'm using google.com. I did try googlng the info on the site.
I couldn't find anything about HOW to do it, just a silly warning that
it could be poisonous and some warnings against using it for pickling
and stuff. Sorry to bother, but thanks for the info.
